In the Baikensky Region, ecological issues and waste management were discussed

A meeting was held in the Batken region to discuss issues related to ecology and sustainable development in mountainous areas. The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported this.

Among those present at the event were the presidential envoy in the region Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev, as well as the first deputy akims of the districts and city mayors.

The meeting took place in the context of implementing the Roadmap for the Five-Year Action Plan aimed at developing mountainous regions. The main objectives include improving the ecological situation, raising the living standards of the population, and ensuring sustainable development in the region.

During the session, participants addressed pressing environmental issues, particularly waste recycling and the need to modernize the solid waste management system. The problem of landfills that do not meet environmental standards was emphasized, necessitating a phased modernization of these facilities.

Issues related to wastewater treatment and the need to improve ecological infrastructure in populated areas were also discussed, with particular attention given to regions where tourism is actively developing.

As a result of the meeting, instructions were given to the heads of district administrations and city mayors regarding the need to enhance the waste management system, modernize ecological infrastructure, and improve the level of environmental safety in the region.
