In the Batken Region, measures to protect rare animal species will be strengthened

In the Batken region, additional steps are planned to protect rare species of animals and preserve biodiversity. The discussion of these issues took place during a meeting between the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev and Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the presidential representative in the region, as well as with the first deputy akims of the districts, city mayors, and local authorities.

The minister noted that the protection of rare species and the maintenance of ecological balance in the region are key tasks for his department.

“We set ourselves the goal of preserving rare animals and maintaining ecological balance in the region. It is necessary to strengthen measures to protect nature and create conditions for the sustainable development of mountainous areas through joint efforts,” emphasized Akyl Toktobaev.

During the meeting, special attention was given to the establishment of a nursery for breeding the snow sheep. A budget of 9.3 million soms has been allocated for the implementation of this project. In addition, the national ecological campaign "Zhasyl Muras" will continue, for which 1 million soms have been allocated.

To enhance monitoring of wildlife conditions, it is planned to install camera traps in cooperation with international organizations, which will allow for tracking the population of wild animals.

Local authorities and the environmental inspection also intend to intensify raids against illegal hunting. Scientific research on rare species of animals protected by the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic is planned.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of further strengthening cooperation in the field of nature conservation and biodiversity preservation was emphasized. Specific tasks were assigned to the heads of state agencies to achieve the set goals.
