The Ministry of Natural Resources Summarized the Results of 2025 and Outlined Goals for 2026

On February 12, a meeting of the board was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision to summarize the results of work for the year 2025. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

High-profile individuals participated in the meeting, including Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Meder Mashiev, and Gulumkan Bekturova, the chief expert of the sectoral policy department of the Presidential and Cabinet Decision Preparation Office. Among those present were also Bolot Jusupbekov, the First Deputy Minister, Deputy Ministers Almaz Musaev and Marat Jusupbekov, representatives of the central apparatus of the ministry, heads of regional departments and nature reserves, as well as staff from the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service.

During the meeting, the results of 2025 were reviewed, and key tasks for 2026 were identified.

Significant reforms aimed at strengthening state control have been carried out in the field of subsoil use over the past five years. In 2024-2025, eight major projects were put into operation, and in 2025, 105 licenses were issued to state enterprises. At the same time, 320 licenses were revoked due to violations of licensing requirements. Currently, there are 2014 active licenses.

Since 2018, the budget from this sector has received over 217.9 billion soms, which is 3.5 times more compared to previous periods. In 2025, revenues amounted to a record 65.4 billion soms, and 40 auctions were held throughout the year, bringing in 105.6 million soms to the budget. Over the past five years, 141 tons of gold have been extracted.

Since 2021, the Kumtor deposit has been under state control, resulting in 100.6 billion soms in tax and mandatory payments to the budget.

The net profit of the enterprise in 2025 amounted to 706 million US dollars, and the volume of gold production reached 70 tons, with reserves also increased.

To improve air quality, an interdepartmental commission was established, and restrictions on the use of low-quality coal were introduced in Bishkek and the Chui region.

With the support of the World Bank, a project worth 50 million US dollars is being implemented, as well as the "Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic" project worth 10 million US dollars with support from KOICA.

In 2025, concepts for environmental safety and carbon neutrality were approved, and international cooperation was expanded. More than 1 billion US dollars in investments were attracted to the mining sector.

In 2025, 5,749 violations were recorded, and damages amounting to 143.2 million soms were compensated. A state enterprise "Ecooperator" was created, which collected 74 million soms in the form of recycling fees.

As part of the "Zhasyl Muras" program, 8.2 million seedlings were planted, and the ecological corridor "Ak Ilbirs" was created. The population of snow leopards in the country exceeded 500 individuals.

In Issyk-Kul, 99 raids were conducted aimed at eliminating illegal fishing nets, and restrictions on the use of plastic products were introduced.

Protected natural areas were visited by 271,000 tourists, generating revenues of 37.7 million soms.

To strengthen the material and technical base of the ministry, the construction of new administrative buildings has begun, as well as the acquisition of 38 official vehicles, modern laboratory equipment, drones, camera traps, and field equipment.

As a result of the meeting, tasks were identified for expanding geological exploration, strengthening environmental control, deepening digitalization, and implementing climate policy.

The ministry emphasized that work on the rational use of natural resources, ensuring environmental safety, and sustainable development will continue in 2026.
