Russia has delivered 121 tons of vegetable oil to southern Kyrgyzstan

At the ceremony for the transfer of 121,440 tons of sunflower oil, the acting head of the Russian Consulate General in Osh, Valery Katunkin, and the third secretary of this representation, Anastasia Yegereva, were present. This information was provided by the press service of the embassy.

The received food will be distributed among needy families in southern Kyrgyzstan with the help of staff from the United Nations World Food Programme and local authorities.

Representatives of the WFP working in Kyrgyzstan also participated in the event.

The Russian Federation holds the position of the largest donor to the World Food Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic. Over the past 15 years, the joint efforts of the Government of Russia and the WFP have helped improve the lives of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan by providing various support, including emergency assistance, recovery and development, as well as social protection programs such as the National School Feeding Program.
