As part of this initiative, the bank has already opened a representative office in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

The central element of the new platform will be a credit fund that will be registered in the ADGM and intended for financing infrastructure projects in Central Asia. Investors will be offered a diverse portfolio of projects, and the EDB will act as a structuring partner and co-investor, leveraging the advantages of this jurisdiction to attract capital to key assets in the region.

“We are creating an 'investment highway' between Gulf capital and the opportunities in Central Asia. The opening of our office in Abu Dhabi will allow us to strengthen our role as a linking element between the two regions, combining regional expertise with financial instruments. Investors will gain access to vetted projects with an optimal risk-return ratio, while Central Asian countries will receive new sources of funding for their development,” noted EDB Chairman Nikolai Podguzov.
