- Analysts of the EDB conducted an ESG assessment in the logistics sector of the Eurasian region. (EDB, 2025).

According to the report, ESG practices in the warehouse real estate sector in the countries of the region still lag significantly behind modern global standards. The majority of warehouse facilities were built decades ago, in accordance with outdated norms, and do not meet current environmental requirements.

The EDB notes that there is a high proportion of morally and physically outdated warehouses in the region. This is due to the lack of long-term incentives for improving energy efficiency and upgrading existing infrastructure.

For a significant period, there have been no strict environmental regulations in the construction and operation of warehouses. Current construction standards and energy efficiency requirements often fall short of international levels.

According to analysts, the ESG agenda in the warehouse development sector of the region is just beginning to take shape.
