London imposed sanctions against a company from Kyrgyzstan

In accordance with the update to the anti-Russian sanctions list, the authorities of the United Kingdom have added companies from Central Asia. The new measures came into effect on December 18 and include financial restrictions and asset freezes, according to information published by the British Treasury.

Among the new sanctions are four organizations from Uzbekistan: the Fergana Chemical Plant, as well as the companies Gelion Business Trade, Chemistry International, and Raw Materials Cellulose, registered respectively in Tashkent, Navoi, and Jizzakh.

According to British authorities, these companies supplied goods and technologies to Russia that could have been used in military operations in Ukraine. However, specific details of these supplies are absent from official documents.

Additionally, the sanctions list includes the company "Kifiko," registered in Bishkek. London stated that it allegedly supported the Russian government through its activities in the financial sector, which is considered strategically important for Russia.

The Treasury documents also indicate a connection between "Kifiko" and the company A7, which has already been included in the sanctions lists of the UK, the USA, and the European Union.

The new sanctions also affected companies registered in Russia and the United Arab Emirates.

Furthermore, the UK has imposed restrictions on a number of individuals, including businessman Rustam Muminov. According to the British Treasury, he holds citizenship of Uzbekistan, Israel, and Russia.

Previously, Ukraine also imposed sanctions against Muminov, reporting on his role in the company that owns the Fergana Chemical Plant.
