Unlike many European and Asian countries where online movie viewing prevails, Kyrgyzstan maintains its unique tradition - cinemas remain popular. As reported by the director of "Kyrgyztasimasy," Almaz Tulekeyev, in an interview with Kaktus.media, about 80% of all movie screenings in the country take place in cinemas, while only 10-20% of content is available on online platforms.

He noted: "For our people, going to the cinema is a way to spend time with family and friends, enjoy popcorn and shopping. Even in rural areas, residents do not miss the opportunity to visit a cinema."

Movie screenings are organized by both private and state-owned cinemas, among which there are 38 establishments in state ownership, some of which are rented out, including the "Manas" cinema.

Additionally, private investors are actively opening new cinemas in various regions. Tulekeyev added: "The establishment of cinemas in the regions is justified, as they are not just venues for showing films, but also multifunctional cultural centers where concerts, theatrical performances, educational courses, and other cultural events take place."

The development of the cinema network is of great importance for both the state and private investors, considering the high interest of the population in movie screenings and the steady demand for film culture in the country.
