Despite any whims of the weather, the farmers' market in Bishkek opens its doors to buyers at any time of the year. Participants of the pre-New Year event shared with a correspondent from VB.KG their ways of creating a cozy atmosphere and offering treats for the festive table. As the farmers themselves note, the flow of customers does not stop from early morning. Although the snow in Bishkek melted quickly, the cold is still felt. To avoid freezing, sellers try to drink hot tea as soon as the number of buyers decreases a bit.

Work at the market is bustling, and the chill is not so noticeable, but to keep warm, sellers sometimes even dance and clap their hands. In the process, they created their own "stomping and shouting" chant: "Have fun, people! The Bishkek market awaits you on the weekend!" Farmers joke that they now resemble Santa Clauses, as they invited gifts from all over Kyrgyzstan to the market. Moreover, the "people's microphone" has become a great way for participants to showcase their talents. Some farmers gladly take it in their hands, performing songs that attract the attention of buyers, who drop their bags to appreciate the performance.

When it comes to "secret equipment" for fighting the cold, farmers smile and share their finds. For example, neighbors from the honey business ordered jackets and heated insoles through Chinese online stores. Meanwhile, Valentina and Vasilina Popovy from Grigorievka are saved by felt boots they ordered from Novosibirsk. As soon as the frost starts to bite, they put them on right away, and warmth comes. The sisters sell mushrooms collected by the whole family, as well as jams and compotes made from berries, and buyers come to them specifically.

You can reach the market from the Ala-Archa Gorge by bus No. 1, which takes you directly to the location. It is also worth noting that there are "boxes of kindness" at the market where city residents can drop off food items. These products are then used to prepare hot pilaf, which is distributed in social shelters and nursing homes, bringing warmth to those in need. The market will operate until June 2026, with a short break in January until mid-month. Before the New Year, from December 27 to 31, the schedule will become especially busy, and buyers will be able to purchase products at prices lower than market rates.

Next Tuesday, an informative presentation will take place at the "people's microphone," where experts will discuss the advantages of concrete surfaces in agriculture and methods for reducing water losses in irrigation systems. Organizers emphasize that the market is open to innovative ideas, banking programs, and educational projects, striving to be closer to the people. They are also expecting folk Santa Clauses and Snow Maidens ready to congratulate the workers.
