The Cabinet explained why the state does not regulate prices for cleaning products

During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, this topic was addressed by Daniyar Amangeldiev

At the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Nilufer Alimjanova raised the issue of including cleaning products in the list of socially significant goods. She noted that the prices of laundry detergents and other household chemicals have increased by 3-4 times, which negatively affects family budgets.

In response to this statement, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, explained that the oil refining and petrochemical industries in Kyrgyzstan are in the process of development. Direct state intervention in pricing could lead to shortages of these goods.

He also added that the government conducts regular monitoring of prices for a wide range of goods and services as part of the social package. In the event of a sharp increase in prices, the authorities first reduce the tax burden, particularly by exempting goods from VAT. If these measures do not yield results, then state price regulation may be introduced.

“We monitor prices every week. If necessary, the procedure can be activated quickly — a decision is made within two days,” noted Amangeldiev.

In response, deputy Alimjanova expressed concern that while monitoring is ongoing, prices continue to rise.
