The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reported that as of the beginning of January 2026, its international reserves reached a record value of $10 billion 177.18 million.

Comparing to January 2025, when the reserves amounted to $5 billion 190.86 million, it can be noted that the figure has nearly doubled. Over the year, the net increase was more than 96 percent.

Throughout 2025, the reserves demonstrated steady growth. For example, in June, the volume of assets was $6 billion 508.42 million, and by October, this figure approached $8 billion.

The largest increase occurred in the last month: from December 2025 to January 2026, the reserves grew by $1 billion 574.04 million, which corresponds to 18.3 percent.

The gold and foreign currency reserves of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic serve as a "safety cushion" for the domestic economy, help maintain the stability of the national currency, and ensure liquidity during external obligations. The current level of reserves is the highest in the entire history of the country's independence.
