In Kazan, at the "EnergoProm" forum, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Talaybek Ibraev, held a meeting with the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, as reported by the press service of the ministry.
This meeting marked an important step in expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and industry.
During the discussions, participants touched upon topics of joint projects in the energy, industry, and technical education sectors. The main focus was on the exchange of experience between Kyrgyz specialists and the implementation of modern technologies. "Such cooperation opens new horizons for Kyrgyzstan, allowing the country to transition from a consumer role to an active producer," the press service stated.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that a joint program was developed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2025 to deepen cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the participation of Kyrgyz students in education at universities in Tatarstan and in excursions for specialists to energy facilities. Currently, 340 students from Kyrgyzstan are studying in engineering and technical specialties, and there are plans to increase this number.
Minister Ibraev pointed out that Kyrgyz specialists already have experience working at modern energy and production facilities in Tatarstan. This cooperation opens new prospects for Kyrgyzstan in areas such as energy, machine engineering, chemistry, and ecology. The minister also emphasized the importance of studying the management of industrial parks and technological hubs.
Furthermore, this cooperation harmoniously complements the strategic agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Russia on the development of energy infrastructure, creating conditions for long-term supplies of electrical equipment and technology exchange.
Thus, the interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan strengthens educational, industrial, and technological cooperation, forming a new platform for the development of the energy sector and the economy of the country as a whole.
