
On March 13, a presentation of the encyclopedia "Alykul Osmonov" took place at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of the Kyrgyz Republic. The publication was prepared by a group of literary scholars, art historians, and historians - scientists from the Department of Humanities and Economic Sciences of the NAS of the Kyrgyz Republic, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding poet of Kyrgyzstan. The encyclopedia was published in Bishkek by the "Biiyiktik Plus" publishing house with a print run of 500 copies. The publication received sponsorship support from the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Chynybai Tursunbekov and public figure, president of the "Ak" foundation Osmonbek Artykbaev.
The presentation of the encyclopedia was attended by the president of the NAS of the Kyrgyz Republic, academician A. Erkebaev, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Osmonaliev, Ch.A. Tursunbekov, K.K. Imanaliev, representatives of ministries, scholars, writers, and poets of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the initiator and organizer of the encyclopedia publication, vice-president of the NAS of the Kyrgyz Republic, academician Abdyladjan Akmataliev, the encyclopedia consists of several sections based on historical facts that reveal the life and creative path of Alykul Osmonov. The main part of the publication includes information about all the works of the classic of Kyrgyz poetry published in Russian, Kyrgyz, and other languages. In addition, it reveals the poetic and translational heritage of the poet through a detailed study of all his works. A linguistic analysis of terms denoting the names of geographical locations associated with the main facts of Alykul Osmonov's biography is provided.
The encyclopedia also includes scientific studies, articles from the Manuscript Fund of the NAS of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as information about the interconnection of A. Osmonov's creativity with the development of painting, theatrical art, and cinematography in Kyrgyzstan. Participants of the event were shown a film about the life and work of the poet.
During the presentation, speakers noted that the poet's works are genuine masterpieces of Kyrgyz poetry, and his translation of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" by Shota Rustaveli into Kyrgyz is considered a model of poetic mastery.
According to the initiator of the book's release, vice-president of the NAS of the Kyrgyz Republic, academician Abdyladjan Akmataliev, the author team and publishers intend to continue a series of similar publications dedicated to the life and activities of outstanding people of Kyrgyzstan. The author team is actively working on the release of the encyclopedia of the epic "Manas," as well as encyclopedias of Sayakbay Karalaev and Sagynbay Orozbakov. Currently, a similar publication about Chinghiz Aitmatov is being prepared for release.
