GKNB: Members of "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" Detained

In the Batken region, members of the radical organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" have been detained. Some of them already had criminal records for extremist activities, reports the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan.

During operational activities, the identities of 11 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were established, including "B.R.K.", born in 1980, "Zh.I.I.", born in 1990, "I.M.A.", born in 1978, "D.U.K.", born in 1980, "B.Z.Z.", born in 1986, "M.T.B.", born in 1989, "M.O.A.", born in 1991, "M.N.M.", born in 1978, "M.T.K.", born in 1989, "A.u.A.", born in 1991, and other residents of the village of Uch-Korgon in the Kadamjai district and the city of Kyzyl-Kiya. These individuals studied prohibited materials and were active participants in closed Telegram channels related to the ideology of "Hizb ut-Tahrir," discussing issues related to the establishment of a caliphate in Kyrgyzstan.

During searches at the addresses of the detainees, prohibited books were found, as well as a significant amount of religious literature, electronic devices including laptops, flash drives, mobile phones, and hard drives.
