During the election campaign related to the early elections of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, 86 cases of violations have been registered across the country. This was reported on the air of Birinchi Radio by Urmat Bayaliyev, head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
He specified that among the registered facts, there are various types of offenses, and charges have already been brought against two candidates under serious criminal articles. The remaining materials are under review and will be sent back to the Central Election Commission (CEC). In such situations, the CEC has the right to impose fines or issue warnings to the candidates.
“In accordance with the legislation, individuals who violate electoral norms can be held accountable under five articles of the Criminal Code. All materials are being thoroughly investigated, and special coordination headquarters have been established in each region,” added Urmat Bayaliyev.
