During the meeting, experts thoroughly examined the draft Program aimed at developing cooperation among CIS countries in the study, use, and protection of groundwater until 2030. The action plan for its implementation was approved by the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS on December 12, 2024.
The Executive Committee of the CIS emphasizes that the need to develop such a document is related to the necessity for a consistent implementation of the Program, including a joint analysis of national approaches to the management, protection, and monitoring of groundwater.
The approval of the roadmap is scheduled for the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on the exploration, use, and protection of subsoil resources, which will take place in September 2026.
