The president congratulated the ombudsman institution on Human Rights Day and emphasized the importance of the work of human rights defenders in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens. He also touched upon the recently adopted Constitutional Law "On the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic," as well as the integration of the functions of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture into the work of the ombudsman institution. Japarov expressed his readiness to support further legislative strengthening of the independence of the ombudsman and its compliance with the Paris Principles.

During the meeting, Sadyr Japarov instructed Jamilya Jamambaeva to take on a coordinating role in implementing policies to prevent torture and cruel treatment, as well as to strengthen cooperation with government agencies.

At the end of the meeting, the president gave instructions to the relevant authorities regarding personnel and financial issues, provision of official transportation, as well as the work of regional offices aimed at enhancing the potential and independence of the ombudsman institution.
