Shailoobek Atazov, former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, reported that he is facing pressure following his arrest
Shailoobek Atazov, a former member of parliament, stated that after his arrest he encountered pressure, which he mentioned in a letter conveyed through his lawyer.
On November 22, after searches at his home, Atazov was taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the same day, he was placed in a temporary detention facility (IVS), where he spent 12 days.
According to him, during this period he was harmed and subjected to cruel treatment.
On December 3, Atazov was transferred to detention center No. 1, where he is in a cell with 20 other inmates. The conditions in the cell are cold and damp, and many of them suffer from illnesses.
Atazov denies the prosecution's allegations that he was preparing for mass riots after the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 30.
“I have always been on the side of my people, my country, and Kyrgyz sports. I have never discussed plans to destabilize the situation in the state. I am not afraid of the charges brought against me, as I am clean before God and people,” he noted.
Let us remind you that Atazov was detained along with other political figures and activists on suspicion of organizing mass riots.
