In the Osh region, in the Chon-Alai district, there is a picturesque place known as the Abyl-Oldoo pasture, as reported by a Turmush correspondent.
According to local resident Arapbay Mamatnazarov, the name of this pasture is associated with a famous Tajik hero.

“In the past, when this territory was on the border with Tajikistan, Tajik warriors regularly crossed Kyrgyz lands to drive their cattle. At the head of these warriors was Abyl the hero. However, the Kyrgyz hero Idrys, representing the 'Naiman' clan, was able to resist the Tajik detachment. As a result, Idrys challenged Abyl to a duel,” A. Mamatnazarov shared.

The duel took place precisely in the area where the pasture is now located. During the battle, the Kyrgyz hero emerged victorious, killing his Tajik opponent. This is why the area was named Abyl-Oldoo, which translates to “the place where Abyl fell,” he added.
Mamatnazarov also emphasized that the Abyl-Oldoo pasture is located between the mountains on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
