In the Kochkor district of the Naryn region, in the rural area of Kosh-Dobo, there is a pasture known to the locals as Kashan-Bee.

The correspondent of Turmush decided to find out the origin of this name. Kashan-Bee is located to the east of the village of Kara-Kungoy, approximately 7-8 kilometers from it. The pasture borders the lands owned by herders from the village of Ak-Olon, as well as the Semiz-Bel pasture. A river called Kara-Kungoy flows along the southern border.

The locals of Kara-Kungoy actively use Kashan-Bee as a wintering ground. Access to this place is provided by the only road connecting Kosh-Dobo and Kashan-Bee.

Historically, until 1878, a tribe called "azyq" lived in the vicinity of Tuur-Suu, Kara-Kungoy, and Kara-Saz. When one of their khans decided to move, one of his mares could not follow the herd and was left behind. She was abandoned, and later, when the khan returned in the autumn with other tribe members, he found that the horse had significantly gained weight. However, he was unable to catch her.

As a result, this territory was named "kashaң жер" [lazy horse]. Professional herders claim that their ancestors were always amazed by the high quality of the grass in these pastures, which contributed to the rapid weight gain of the animals.

There is a spring located on the pasture of Kashan-Bee. Local elders recount that there used to be a turbulent river here that could even carry away horses. Currently, a channel resembling the bed of a large river has formed near the spring. There is an opinion that mills of the "azyq" tribe were located along the banks of this river, as evidenced by the remaining traces.

According to legends, during the migrations, the "azyq" tribe buried their deceased in these places, which could have led to the disappearance of the rivers Tepshi and Kashan-Bee.

On the pasture of Kashan-Bee, there is also the wintering ground of Zhaichibek, one of the wealthy representatives of the "azyq" tribe. In 1878, by the order of Shabdan Jantai uulu, this tribe was relocated to the areas of Uzun-Bulak, Ak-Chiy, and Ak-Uchuk.

Legends tell that during the relocation, the tribe members were distressed as they had to leave the fertile lands of Kashan-Bee and Semiz-Bel.

Soon, representatives of the "aryk" tribe from Ak-Suu, located in the Issyk-Kul region, came to the vacated territories. The elders mentioned that they saw a man riding a bay horse near the spring. During Soviet times, this place became a pilgrimage site and maintained its status until the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

There was a clairvoyant during the Soviet era who was believed to summon the appearance of a rider on a gray horse when reciting the lines "Kyzyl buurul at mingin, kyrk mal karach bees bar…".

According to other legends, one person passing by Kashan-Bee saw a door in a rock. Upon entering, he discovered a treasure trove full of gold and silver, shining as if in sunlight. However, when he exited and returned, the door was already gone. It was said that if he had made a sacrifice and prayed, he could have obtained wealth.

There is another story in which a man, having collected gold in a cave, found that it turned into manure upon exiting. Another person completely disappeared in the mountains. There is a belief that the doors of this cave open once every hundred years, and not everyone is granted the sight of them. There have been instances where locals tried to break stones to get inside, as evidenced by small remnants of boulders scattered around.

Some herders believe that Kashan-Bee has its own guardian who gallops over the hills at night. Sometimes, livestock breeders hear strange sounds even during the day.

Sydygaly Imanaliev, a resident of Kara-Kungoy, recounts that once, while heading to Arsy, he met an elder who asked him where he was from. When Sydygaly replied that he was from Kara-Kungoy, the elder exclaimed: "Alдап ай! Кашаң-Бээ жерим ай, эми көрөөр күн барбы?!".

The pasture of Kashan-Bee is divided into several wintering grounds, such as "Konoydun konushu," "Shabdaaly bulung," "Zhalga," "Kerege-Tash," "Zhaichibek," "Tai saray," "Chargynbay," "Ozbek old," "Baigandyn chungkuru," "Bel Tepshi," "Kara-Tam," and "Shonkonyng tuzu." Each of them has its unique story.
