Dokdurbek Sarbaev, a 68-year-old master of folk crafts from the village of Petrovka, located in the Moscow district of the Chuy region, creates amazing products from horns, bones, and wood.

According to information from a Turmush correspondent, Dokdurbek has earned a reputation as a true master of his craft among the locals. His products made from animal horns and bones, as well as wood, not only attract attention but also reflect the master's years of experience and creative approach.

Dokdurbek was born on January 1, 1957, in the Jayil district of the Chuy region. At the age of three, his family moved to Belovodsk, where he completed his schooling. After finishing his studies, he served in the Soviet army and then worked at a rural bus depot. However, as he himself admits, his true calling was found in craftsmanship.

After receiving education at one of the vocational schools in Frunze (now Bishkek), he began to refine his skills. Since 1982, he has worked at the "Kiyal" association, where he deepened his knowledge and skills in creating products from horns, bones, and wood. In his hands, simple materials are transformed into real works of art. His creations, including chess sets, checkers, and decorations, have been exhibited multiple times at district, regional, and national exhibitions, as well as at the World Nomad Games.

Currently, Dokdurbek is the head of the handicraft club at the "Tañ nury" Children's Creativity Center in Belovodsk. He shares his skills and experience with the younger generation, inspiring children to engage in creativity.

The master shared his working process, explaining that to give the horn the desired shape, he heats it over a low flame with a bit of oil added. This stage takes 10-15 minutes, during which the material becomes flexible and pliable for processing. In addition to products made from horns and bones, Dokdurbek continues to create unique wooden works that participate in exhibitions or become gifts for loved ones.

Dokdurbek is the father of two children and the grandfather of three grandchildren. His wife, Gulnara, works as a foreign language teacher, and his son, Zhanibek, has followed in his father's footsteps by choosing jewelry making as his profession.
