Toktobek Oskon Uulu from the village of Kara-Kol in the Talas region has been engaged in the production of various wooden items since 2012.

“I grew up in a family of craftsmen. My grandfather on my father's side was a well-known handicraftsman. He made Kyrgyz yurts. My father made horse gear and whips. I am a woodworker. I enjoy carving wood and furnishing homes with my products,” he said.

Toktobek noted that he wanted to create something unusual. In the forest, he found a branch that resembled the silhouette of a snake. Its length was 6.5 meters.

“I processed it and covered it with varnish. I spent 600 soms on the varnish. It took me a month to make the anaconda. I worked with a knife,” he said.

Toktobek added that he decided not to sell the wooden anaconda and to donate it to the local museum.

He and his wife Raykhan are raising two daughters.
