Botobek Tenirbaev, a 56-year-old carpenter from the village of Chimgan in the Leilek district, shares his passion.

After finishing high school in 1986, he enrolled in carpentry training at Lyceum No. 48 in Isfara. "There, I learned the basic principles of working with wood. My mentor Abdimumut taught me until the collapse of the Soviet Union, and I learned a lot from him. I mastered the construction of wooden houses, which are famous in Batken. There are two main types – double and simple wooden houses. We built them depending on the financial capabilities of the clients, which allowed me to develop my woodworking skills," Botobek said.

After the collapse of the USSR, he began practicing independently, creating various wooden items needed in everyday life: from ladles to furniture and windows. "I can make almost anything that can be made from wood," he shares.
Botobek keeps up with modern technologies and even invented a device for combing wool, which surprised many.

“We can create useful things and devices that make life easier. You can find working methods on the internet; the main thing is desire and creativity. I developed a device for combing wool and a cradle that is easy to assemble. There is a high demand for such cradles, as I took into account all modern requirements when creating them. When the cradle is needed, it can be assembled and then disassembled and stored,” he explains.

Tenirbaev's wife, Myskalai Karabekova, is engaged in handicrafts and sews the necessary parts for the cradle. “We have been married for over 30 years and have raised four children — three sons and a daughter. Modern youth are very different — many are not interested in manual labor. I would like to pass my experience on to my sons,” he adds.
