In the "Our People Abroad" section, we will talk about Жеңишбек Маматураимов, who has been living in Dubai since 2021.

He was born in 1998 in Jalal-Abad, in a family with two older sisters and a brother, where he became the youngest child. After finishing school, Жеңишбек enrolled in the Kyrgyz State Technical University but did not complete his studies.

“In 2021, I decided to move to Dubai, aiming to work abroad and gain experience. Hearing about Dubai on TV is one thing, but seeing it in person is completely different. Initially, I got a job as a waiter in a little-known restaurant, where I learned the basics of service over the course of a year, overcoming many difficulties. Then I took a position as a manager at a gym, and after six months, I became an assistant and driver for a wealthy Armenian family,” Жеңишбек shares his memories.

While managing the gym, he became interested in the work of a personal trainer. “I really like this profession because it allows me to interact with a variety of clients, mostly affluent ones. They spend money, and I gain invaluable experience by communicating with them, observing their lifestyle and habits, which contributes to my professional growth,” he adds.

Жеңишбек completed a four-month course and received a personal trainer certificate. The job search took two months, but he showed patience and persistence. “This experience taught me that hard work always pays off. Currently, I work as a personal trainer in a private company,” he noted.

He also recalled a funny incident:

“When I first arrived, on my very first day working as a waiter, an Englishman approached me and placed an order. I understood almost everything until he said ‘flat white.’ I was confused and didn’t dare to ask my colleagues. In the end, I went up to one of them and said, ‘A client is calling you over there.’ Now it brings a smile, but at that moment, I learned an important lesson: if you don’t know, you need to ask, learn, and take action,” he said.

According to Жеңишбек, Dubai is a multicultural city where all religions and cultures are respected. The state ensures order, safety, and equal opportunities for everyone. “I am inspired by the fact that a hardworking person will always find their way,” he says.

“Of course, there were difficulties. In the first months, I experienced physical fatigue from the heat, and finding a job turned out to be challenging. But all these trials made me stronger and taught me to appreciate even small victories,” the Kyrgyzstani added.

In his future plans, he dreams of family happiness and aims to inspire those around him, guiding the youth onto the right path. “My main goal is to be useful to people and do good deeds,” emphasized Жеңишбек.
