Iranian Embassy: No country will tolerate disorder and arson

In its statement, the Iranian representation emphasized recent events in the country, including foreign interference and abuses.

The document highlights that peaceful gatherings in the Islamic Republic of Iran have a legal basis and are legally recognized. However, protests that initially had an economic nature were distorted over time and led to violence and instability due to the interference of external players.

These events can be conditionally divided into four key stages:

The first stage (December 28-31): Civil actions

Initially, the protests were peaceful and limited to activities in markets and union meetings. The government promptly began a dialogue with union representatives and businessmen, accepting their demands. As a result, some economic requests were included in the agenda, and the protests gradually transformed into a negotiation process.

The second stage (January 1-7): Violent protests, but unarmed

During this period, new participants joined the protesters, leading to an escalation of violence. Security forces acted with restraint to avoid further conflicts. Nevertheless, this stage became a turning point when the nature of the demonstrations changed. Similar situations are often observed in Western countries.

The third stage (January 8-10): Armed terrorist actions

Among the protesters, armed terrorists were recorded who opened fire on police and civilians. Their goal was to cause more casualties to provoke U.S. intervention. There is evidence, including voice messages, indicating that these actions were managed from abroad. The involvement of the U.S. and Israel in this terrorist plan became evident. According to Israeli media, Mossad agents speaking Persian were operating on the streets of Tehran. Mike Pompeo addressed a New Year's greeting to both the Iranian people and the agents nearby. We believe that those who planned the murders of innocent people must be held accountable for their actions. We view this stage as a continuation of the armed confrontation with Israel and the U.S., which began in June 2025, and we will seek justice at both international and domestic levels.

The fourth stage (from January 10): Situation under control

At this stage, security forces intensified their actions, detaining many armed terrorists. Details of the confessions of these detainees will be published in the coming days. According to recent data, more than 80% of Iranians support the cessation of unrest, with only 30% believing that the cause is the economic situation, while more than 70% point to foreign interference. On January 12, the Iranian people took to the streets in mass demonstrations to express their disgust at the violent protests supported by Western powers.

Investigations show that the unrest led to destruction, including the arson of about 200 stores, attacks on 53 fire trucks, 180 ambulances, the destruction of 26 banks and 25 mosques only in the capital, as well as attacks on government buildings and police stations. More than 1300 units of weapons were seized from the terrorists. These actions resemble the methods of well-known terrorist groups.

The statement also notes that "Western support for violence continues, despite its decline. Western countries, especially the U.S., accuse the Iranian government of violence against protesters, while thousands of people die each year at the hands of police in the U.S., raising concerns among human rights activists and the global community.

In conclusion, we note that the right to peaceful protest is recognized worldwide, but no country will tolerate disorder, arson, terrorism, and attacks on civilians and law enforcement personnel."
