Trump noted that this weapon, known as "The Discombobulator," played a key role in the operation against Maduro. He claims that this device was effective against Venezuelan military equipment produced in China and Russia.

CNN: The U.S. acquired a device capable of causing "Havana syndrome" about a year ago

In his comments, Trump referred to data from CNN, which reported that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security acquired a device believed to have the capability to induce "Havana syndrome" approximately a year ago.

"Havana syndrome" refers to unexplained medical symptoms experienced by American officials since 2016 in various countries around the world. The first cases became known when employees of the U.S. Embassy in Havana reported hearing noises, experiencing ear pain, and dizziness. There is a theory that these symptoms may be caused by microwave exposure.

According to a report by the New York Post, witnesses of the operation to capture Maduro noted that members of the Venezuelan president's security detail began experiencing unexplained nosebleeds, and some even had bloody vomiting. As a result of the operation, the Venezuelan Ministry of Defense claims that 83 people were killed.

"At one point, they used something I can't describe. It felt like a strong sound wave. Suddenly, I felt like my head was exploding," a witness to the events is quoted as saying in the tabloid.

Trump declined to disclose further details about the new weapon in an interview.

U.S. Military Operation in Venezuela

Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were captured by a unit of U.S. special forces "Delta" during Operation "Absolute Resolve" on January 3. They were first taken to a U.S. Navy base in Guantanamo and then to New York, where the first court hearing took place on January 5.

The U.S. has charged Maduro with "narcoterrorism," illegal possession of weapons, and trafficking in diplomatic passports. He is accused of leading the criminal group Cartel de los Soles, previously designated as a terrorist organization in the U.S., as well as conspiring with Colombian criminals involved in cocaine production. Maduro has rejected all charges, calling them an attempt to cover up the seizure of Venezuela's oil resources.
