According to the New York Post, a soldier guarding Maduro reported that during the operation, their security was subjected to a powerful sound weapon that caused them to "fall to their knees." The witness's testimony was published on X by representatives of the president's administration.
According to his words: "There were many of us, but we had no chance. At one point, they activated something that could be described as a strong sound wave. I felt like my head was about to explode. We all started bleeding, some felt unwell, and we fell to the ground, unable to move. After this sound exposure, we couldn't even get up."
So far, White House representatives have not commented on whether they confirm the witness's words, according to an interview with press secretary Caroline Levitt. Earlier, the Venezuelan Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that as a result of actions by American troops, over 100 Venezuelan military personnel had died.
Experts consulted by the newspaper note that the military has had directed energy technologies for a long time, including microwave and laser weapons. One specialist mentioned that in 2020, Chinese troops used similar microwave weapons against Indian soldiers in Ladakh. If the eyewitness's information is confirmed, this will be the first known case of such weapons being used by American military personnel.
