Last year, the stadium underwent a major renovation, during which the roof on the eastern side, as well as the northern and southern stands, were updated. Additionally, a rubber surface was laid on the athletics track, meeting international standards. The work was carried out by the company OsOO "Universal," and the client was the Capital Construction Department of the Osh City Mayor's Office.
Erkin Ergeshov, responsible for technical supervision of the stadium's construction, commented on the situation in an interview with Turmush. According to him, the concrete elements that have started to crumble were poured at the base of the supports to extend their service life. However, he emphasized that this will not affect the strength of the structure: "The deterioration of the concrete concerns only a few supports that hold up the roof. The foundation of these supports is very strong, and although the concrete needs to be periodically updated or painted, the current deterioration will not affect the stability of the structure. We plan to plaster and paint these areas," noted Ergeshov.
Furthermore, in the area of the fencing to the left of the sports committee, deterioration has also begun. Farukh Sydykov, an employee of the committee, explained that the fencing was installed by the previous management to prevent construction on private property. "When the stadium supports were installed, earthworks were carried out, and soil with stones was dumped in this area, which led to damage to the concrete. The inner side of the fencing is in order, while the outer side has been affected," he added.
Currently, work is underway to repair the damaged fencing.
