According to information from the capital construction management, some areas captured on video showed fallen pieces. This concerns only the layer of concrete that serves a protective function for the metal structure supporting the column. Damage to this layer does not threaten the strength of the main supports that ensure the roof's stability.
Representatives of the capital construction management noted: “The supports are protected by three layers of concrete and additionally reinforced with two-meter-long rebar. Despite this, the contractor carrying out the construction work will address the restoration of the damaged areas. It is also worth noting that the construction of concrete elements on the fence, which is currently in poor condition, was not supervised by our management, therefore, it is not within our responsibilities.”
In October 2024, the news agency Turmush reported the beginning of the roof installation on the northern, southern, and eastern stands of the Akhmatbek Suyumbaev Stadium. As part of this work, metal structures were installed for over 11,000 seats, and the tender was won by the company "Universal Company LTD" for the amount of 84 million 831 thousand 457 soms.
According to the Ministry of Justice as of October 2024, the founder and director of "Universal Company LTD" was Akylbek uulu Almazbek, who was involved in the construction of both residential and non-residential buildings. Later, on March 17, 2025, the company underwent re-registration, and the new director became Abiev Uluqbek Asanovich.
On February 3, 2026, residents of the city reported that some roof supports at the central stadium were experiencing concrete deterioration. Damage was also noted on the concrete fence located to the left of the Osh City Sports Committee building.
The technical supervisor of the capital construction management, Erkin Ergeshov, commented to Turmush that the concrete elements poured at the base of the supports are intended to extend their service life. However, their deterioration will not lead to structural problems. He explained: “We are talking about some supports that hold up the stadium roof. The original concrete was poured to increase their durability. However, despite the damage, the strength of the foundations remains high. In the future, we plan to update the concrete coating and paint it.”
The bases of the supports were reinforced to a depth of about two meters, after which they were concreted and installed.
As for the fence, its deterioration has also been recorded. Committee employee Farukh Sydykov stated that the fence was installed by the previous management. “This area belongs to private property. Previously, to prevent unauthorized construction, the area was fenced. During the installation of the supports, earthworks were carried out, which led to the damage of the concrete fence. The inner side of the fence is in good condition, while the outer side shows signs of deterioration,” he added.
Currently, work is underway to repair the fence.
