On February 4 in Bishkek, a meeting took place between the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Sergio Gor, the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, as well as representatives of the U.S. business community at "Yntymak Ordo." The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan adheres to a multi-vector foreign policy, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with America.
“We are open to all investors and entrepreneurs. We do not divide them by country of origin. We treat all businesses, including Kyrgyz ones, equally and are ready to provide support,” the president stated.
Japarov also noted that the American delegation present at the meeting is the largest in the history of Kyrgyz-American relations. An important aspect of the meeting was the discussion of the work of the U.S.-Kyrgyz Business Council.
“Kyrgyzstan intends to become a reliable and stable partner for U.S. businesses in the region,” he emphasized, adding that in recent years the economic dynamics of the country has shown steady growth.
The president spoke about current large-scale infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects aimed at long-term economic growth. He highlighted investment potential as one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's economic policy.
Additionally, Japarov pointed to improvements in the investment climate, the expansion of tax incentives, and the simplification of business processes. According to the international rating agency Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings, as of 2025, Kyrgyzstan's sovereign credit rating is B+ with a "Stable" outlook, confirming the effectiveness of reforms and growing investor confidence.
“We strive for Kyrgyzstan to be perceived as a competitive jurisdiction for long-term investments and technological cooperation,” he added.
For his part, Sergio Gor noted that U.S. attention to the region is increasing, which has not been observed before. He emphasized that the Trump administration sees opportunities for developing mutually beneficial relations with Kyrgyzstan.
“Today we have the opportunity for close cooperation, which was not possible in the past,” the ambassador noted. He also emphasized U.S. interest in cooperation and the significance of existing initiatives.
Gor added that members of the business delegation have already assessed the opportunities in Kyrgyzstan, and the U.S. government is ready to expand support for investment cooperation.
Representatives of American companies, including the U.S.-Kyrgyz Business Council and major corporations such as Boeing and Coca Cola, also expressed their views on the prospects for interaction.
As a result of the meeting, mutual interest in strengthening economic dialogue and practical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the U.S. was confirmed.
