The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic appeals to citizens of the country currently in Iran.

Many international airlines have reduced or suspended their flights to and from Iran, leading to frequent changes in flight schedules. If you are unable to leave the country by plane, there is an option to exit through land borders with neighboring states.

Kyrgyz citizens do not require a visa to enter Armenia and Turkey.

For travel to Turkmenistan, it is necessary to contact the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ashgabat in advance to obtain permission for entry and a transit visa.

As of January 16, 2026, border crossing points on the border of Iran with Afghanistan and Iraq are open. If you plan to cross the border into these countries, be sure to obtain a visa from the respective diplomatic representations.

The Ministry also recommends considering alternative routes for departure.

Currently, the land borders of Iran with Pakistan and Azerbaijan are closed for crossing.

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan who require assistance in leaving Iran are advised to send the following information to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Iran or to the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Those planning to travel to Iran in the near future are advised to postpone their visit until the situation improves.
