“Currently, many international airlines have either reduced their flights to/from Iran or completely suspended them. Frequent changes in flight schedules may complicate leaving the country. If air travel is not possible, citizens are advised to consider exiting by land through neighboring states.
Kyrgyz citizens can enter Armenia and Turkey without a visa.
To visit Turkmenistan, it is necessary to contact the Kyrgyz embassy in that country in advance to obtain permission for entry and a transit visa.
As of January 16, 2026, border crossing points on the border of Iran with Afghanistan and Iraq are open. When planning a trip to these countries, it is advisable to apply for visas at the respective consulates in advance.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommends considering alternative exit routes, as the land borders of Iran with Pakistan and Azerbaijan are currently closed.
Kyrgyz citizens who need assistance leaving Iran are advised to send the following information to the consular department or embassy:
— Last name, first name, patronymic, and contact details;
— A photo of the passport page with personal information;
— The intended location for crossing the state border.
Those planning to travel to Iran in the near future are advised to refrain from visiting until the situation stabilizes.
