On March 10, Iran denied the information stated by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright that an American oil tanker was escorted by U.S. military forces through the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency.

Sardar Naeini, a representative of the Revolutionary Guard, stated on the state television channel IRIB that "no American vessel will dare to approach the Sea of Oman, the Persian Gulf, or the Strait of Hormuz in a state of war."

Naeini also noted that Iran will not allow the U.S. and its allies to move through its waters during its missile operations.

Earlier on social media, Wright claimed that the U.S. Navy "successfully escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz."

In his message, the minister indicated that President Donald Trump "supports stability in global energy during military actions against Iran," adding that the Navy ensured uninterrupted oil supplies to international markets.

However, this post was soon deleted without any explanation.

The Strait of Hormuz has come under increased attention in the energy market after Iran announced its closure for transit on February 28 amid U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iranian positions.

About 20 million barrels of oil pass through this strategically important route every day, and its blockage has already led to an increase in oil prices.

The escalation of the conflict in the region began after a joint U.S. and Israeli operation against Iran, resulting in over 1,200 deaths and 10,000 injuries since February 28.

In response, Tehran launched drone and missile strikes on targets in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Persian Gulf countries where U.S. military bases are located.

Iran: The Strait of Hormuz will be a bitter pill for those who ignite war

Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, commented on the country's closure of the Strait of Hormuz to vessels associated with the U.S. and Israel.

In his message on the social network owned by the American company X, Larijani stated: "The Strait of Hormuz will either become a symbol of peace and prosperity or a source of defeat and suffering for those who ignite conflict."

The post refuting the U.S. statement about the Navy escorting the oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz first appeared on the K-News website.
