The Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service, Kubanychbek Isabekov, shared information about new tax benefits for the sewing industry on the air of "Birinchi Radio".
According to him, mandatory payments for workers in the sewing industry of Kyrgyzstan have been reduced.
He noted that in 2022, a single tax rate of 0.25% was introduced, which is the lowest rate for the manufacturing sector.
“0.25% is the lowest rate for production. For other industries, for example, cash payments are 4%, and non-cash payments are 2%. Here, 0.25% is ten times lower,” he said.
In addition, Kubanychbek Isabekov noted that for part of the small business, the opportunity to work under a patent has been preserved. For small workshops with 10 sewing machines, the fee is 2000 soms, and for the next 10 machines, it is 1000 soms. At the same time, the turnover for each patent must not exceed 8 million soms.
He clarified that the main tax problem in the industry was not the single tax rate, but the high payments for workers—income tax and insurance contributions. Previously, these amounts ranged from 5500 to 9500 soms depending on the category.
“When it became known that this was too much, we combined all categories into one and reduced the payments to 2500 soms. Thus, payments were reduced by 3-4 times. After that, industry representatives confirmed their readiness to work openly and officially show their workers,” added Kubanychbek Isabekov.
He emphasizes that the sewing industry has important social significance for the country, as it employs thousands of people. Therefore, the state is interested in creating conditions for the legal and sustainable operation of businesses.
