Turatbek Idrisov, head of the Department of Crop Production, Horticulture, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, strongly advises farmers to focus on growing key agricultural crops. These include barley, wheat, potatoes, onions, and sugar beets. He emphasized that grains and sugar beets occupy the top positions in the list of strategic food reserves.

Additionally, raspberries, strawberries, and corn are high-yield crops. For farmers wishing to develop these areas, the Ministry recommends using drip and sprinkler irrigation. The application of effective irrigation methods can provide access to subsidies and preferential loans with low interest rates from the government.

According to recent data, there is an increase in the sowing of barley and corn, which is associated with the growth of livestock in the country.

“Before the start of spring fieldwork, farmers should conduct a soil analysis and apply the necessary mineral and agro-mineral fertilizers to increase yields. It is important not to exceed the established norms,” he added.

The Ministry also urges farmers to check the purity of seeds and the condition of the soil before processing and sowing any agricultural crops, including grains. Expertise will help determine which crops are best suited for cultivation. “Yield largely depends on these key factors,” concluded Turatbek Idrisov.
