This year, spring fieldwork began significantly earlier than usual. This was reported by Turatbek Idrisov, head of the department for implementing solutions in crop production and horticulture at the Ministry of Agriculture, in his interview on the radio.

According to him, the reason for such an early start is that spring arrived two weeks earlier than last year, which is linked to the warm winter. In the fall, farmers were given recommendations for preparing for the new season, including advice on soil treatment, water conservation, as well as timely acquisition of seeds and fertilizers.

However, as Idrisov noted, in the southern regions, the pace of work has slowed down over the past week due to unfavorable weather conditions. Previously, the sowing campaign was progressing actively.

In particular, in the Aravan district of the Osh region, more than 400 hectares of potatoes have already been planted, and in the Jalal-Abad region — over 200 hectares. In the Osh region, 500 hectares of wheat and barley have been sown to date, of which 300 hectares are wheat and 200 hectares are barley. The Chui region is also actively working, having sown over 2,000 hectares of grain crops, including 1,500 hectares of barley and 500 hectares of wheat.

The main crops are currently focused on wheat, barley, and potatoes. At the same time, greenhouses continue to grow seedlings of various vegetable and fruit crops. The seed supply across the country is over 87%, and there is a sufficient quantity of seeds in seed-growing farms and in the warehouses of large companies.

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, 28,000 tons of fertilizers have been imported into the country, of which more than 22,000 tons are being sold through over 40 retail outlets. Supplies continue depending on demand. Seeds of wheat, barley, potatoes, corn, and alfalfa are distributed with a 30% subsidy.

As for agricultural machinery, its readiness exceeds 85%. In the Naryn region, work has not yet begun due to weather conditions, so current figures are mainly formed by the southern regions and the Chui region. About 22,000 units of machinery are planned to be involved in the spring campaign.

For conducting fieldwork, 7 million liters of fuel and lubricants have been allocated at a preferential price of 74 soms per liter. Fuel can be obtained through district agricultural development offices from material reserve warehouses. According to oil traders, there is no shortage of diesel fuel in the country, as Idrisov stated.

Overall, the preparation and implementation of spring fieldwork are proceeding according to plan.
