Currently, a total of 155.6 thousand hectares have been prepared for autumn sowing in the republic, with the majority located in the Chui region.
In the Chui region itself, winter crops have been sown on 100.2 thousand hectares. Of these, 94.5 thousand hectares are occupied by winter wheat (37.4 thousand hectares on irrigated lands and 57.1 thousand hectares on rainfed lands), while 5,879 hectares are allocated for winter barley (2,599 hectares irrigated and 3,280 hectares rainfed).
The total area planned for autumn sowing across the country is 250 thousand hectares, and currently, 62.4% of the established plan has been completed.
The actual distribution of sowings is as follows:
winter wheat — 147.6 thousand hectares, of which 66.6 thousand hectares are on rainfed lands and 80.9 thousand hectares are on irrigated lands;
winter barley — 8,037.5 hectares, including 2,976.9 hectares on irrigated lands and 5,060.6 hectares on rainfed lands.
In the Issyk-Kul region, 9.2 thousand hectares of winter wheat have been sown, among which 5,582 hectares are on irrigated lands and 3,697 hectares are on rainfed lands.
