
It is planned to equip 5,270 hectares of agricultural land
In Kyrgyzstan, in 2026, the installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems will begin, covering 5,270 hectares of agricultural land. This information comes from the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture.
According to the ministry, from 2024 to 2025, water-saving equipment will be implemented on 2,369.5 hectares, including 641.5 hectares for drip irrigation and 1,728 hectares for sprinkler irrigation.
Funding for these initiatives is provided from the republican budget, and the work is being carried out on state fund lands.
To date, 2,000 hectares have already been marked, and tenders have been announced for the installation of systems on 1,500 hectares. The project and estimate documentation has already been prepared. In addition, explanatory activities are being conducted among farmers to familiarize them with the advantages of water-saving technologies, and two seminars have been held at the republican level.
