
In 2026, Kyrgyzstan plans to expand drip and sprinkler irrigation systems over 5,270 hectares of agricultural land, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the agency's information, water-saving technologies have been implemented over an area of 2,369.5 hectares during 2024 and 2025, of which 641.5 hectares are drip systems and 1,728 hectares are sprinkler systems.
Currently, 2,000 hectares of land have already been designated in the republic, and tenders have been announced for the installation of irrigation systems on 1,500 hectares. The design and estimate documentation has also been completed.
Farmers are being informed about the advantages of implementing water-saving technologies through explanatory activities.
After the completion of the tenders, it is planned to purchase the necessary equipment and install the systems before the start of the 2026 growing season.
