The Minister of Agriculture, Bakyt Torobaev, visited the fields of the "Kyrgyzmamasyltukum" plant, where he revealed to farmers the advantages of using carbomint, a new generation fertilizer. This information was provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the minister, winter wheat was sown on an area of 50 hectares treated with agro-technologies. This year, a yield of at least 60 quintals is expected, which has become possible due to the use of necessary minerals and certified seed material.
"Farmers first conducted a soil analysis to identify deficiencies in macro and microelements. The main missing components were found to be phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen. To replenish these, carbomint is used, which is loaded into a hopper and delivered through a dosing mechanism to rotating discs, ensuring even distribution of fertilizer across the field," he explained.
Bakyt Torobaev also pointed out the incorrect use of pesticides by some farmers, which negatively affects yields. "Weeds growing alongside the wheat suppress its growth and reduce the final yield. Moreover, many farmers plant seeds without certification, which leads to a decrease in product quality," noted the minister.
There are 22 laboratories operating in the republic where farmers can check the quality of their wheat or use certified seeds.
Carbomint is a mineral fertilizer that enriches the soil, providing plants with essential elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and contributing to increased yields. It is widely used to boost the harvest of crops such as wheat, corn, and potatoes. The fertilizer is produced in granular form and is applied using specialized equipment, such as the RUM.
The RUM is a machine for spreading mineral fertilizers, which is mounted on a tractor using a three-point hitch and operates from the power take-off (PTO). It evenly distributes granular fertilizer over the field surface, and the settings allow for precise regulation of application rates and widths.
