The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan urges farmers to choose quality and certified seeds

The Department of Agricultural Crop Expertise emphasizes the importance of using clean and certified seeds.

Seed cleaning is of paramount importance for achieving a high yield. The process involves removing debris, weed seeds, and damaged grains. Cleaned seeds, having uniform characteristics, contribute to the uniform growth of plants in the field, which, in turn, significantly increases yield, reports the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

Thus, quality seed cleaning is a key factor in obtaining a good harvest.
The cleaning procedure begins with pouring the seeds into a hopper, after which they are fed into cleaning equipment. At this stage, straw and other large impurities are removed. Then the seeds enter a drum, where they are cleaned of crushed and damaged grains. Finally, using an air flow, immature and light seeds are separated, resulting in clean and high-quality seed material.

Certified seeds guarantee the quality of the planting material.

Specialists from the Department conduct inspections to assess the varietal and species purity of seeds, as well as the typicality of plants and other characteristics. In laboratories, using specialized methods, analyses are conducted that include checking the sowing qualities: germination energy, yield, purity, moisture, weight of 1000 seeds, and other parameters.
