The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Erlis Akunbekov, is actively holding working meetings with relevant specialists aimed at improving the epizootic situation in the country.
Today, March 17, 2026, a meeting took place between the minister and representatives of the joint-stock company "Altyn Tamyr." The main topic of discussion was the construction of a modern animal vaccine production plant, which is crucial for veterinary safety in Kyrgyzstan and improving quality in the livestock sector, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is important to note that "Altyn Tamyr" is the only producer of biopreparations in the country, where about 20 different biopreparations are produced to meet the needs of local farms and are exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the minister outlined several key tasks:
- Tighten requirements for the volume and quality of vaccines;
- Accelerate the completion of the plant's construction and its launch;
- Develop a program for effective vaccine procurement;
- Consider the project as a strategically important facility for the country's economy.
According to preliminary estimates, the construction of the plant will require about 10 million US dollars. The state will provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the project, including preferential loans and the creation of favorable conditions for investors.
Erlis Akunbekov emphasized that this initiative will be an important step towards improving control over the epizootic situation, preventing animal diseases, and supporting domestic production.
Upon completion of the project, Kyrgyzstan will be able not only to provide its market with quality veterinary vaccines but also to expand export opportunities in the future.
