The process of eliminating unscrupulous employees in the GKNB continues
According to Shabdanbekov, the majority of GKNB employees indeed perform their duties conscientiously. He noted that the agency is transitioning to legal methods of operation and abandoning the practice of intimidation, in line with the president's directives to cease unjustified inspections and pressure on businesses. Starting from January 2026, such inspections will no longer be conducted.
In this regard, a meeting was held on March 16 with representatives from various business sectors in Kyrgyzstan, including construction, pharmaceuticals, and banking. During the meeting, which took place in a constructive atmosphere, entrepreneurs shared their suggestions, which will be considered to improve the business environment.
In cases of illegal actions by officials or administrative obstacles for entrepreneurs, all facts will be strictly examined in accordance with the law, and a corresponding legal assessment will be provided.
Moreover, if any individuals among the business community are found to be engaged in illegal activities, they will also be held accountable in accordance with the legislation, added the head of the special service.
Shabdanbekov emphasized that about 99% of GKNB employees act responsibly and conscientiously, adhering to the interests of the state and the requirements of the law. Their work is aimed at ensuring national security and maintaining public order.
However, in any system, there may be instances of violations by individual employees. Nevertheless, it is not appropriate to form a negative attitude towards the entire system of national security agencies based on the actions of this small number of violators. Work is currently underway to cleanse the agency of unscrupulous employees, he noted.
As a result of an internal investigation conducted by the GKNB's own security service, the following measures were taken:
- 7 employees were dismissed;
- 83 individuals were suspended from duty;
- 6 candidates were removed from the list of applicants;
- 13 employees received disciplinary sanctions.
