Kyrgyzstan is taking measures to strengthen multilateral cooperation with Montenegro. This statement was made by Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev during a meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart Ervin Ibrahimovic.

Kulubaev noted that during the discussions, the parties held extensive negotiations and exchanged ideas on various aspects of cooperation. The focus was on issues of political dialogue, organizing mutual high-profile visits, as well as developing trade, economic, and investment relations.

“Both countries are mountainous, and this gave us the opportunity to discuss a number of significant issues. We focused on expanding cooperation in agriculture and tourism. Given the successful development of the tourism sector in Montenegro, we are interested in exchanging experiences and joint projects in this area. We are also open to deepening cooperation in the field of education and technology,” the minister commented.

Furthermore, Kulubaev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro support each other within international organizations.

“We support each other on various international platforms, including the UN and UNESCO, as well as in dialogue with the European Union. We invited the Montenegrin delegation to the Global Mountain Summit scheduled for October 2027, as this is a relevant topic for them as a mountainous country. We also invited representatives of Montenegro to the World Nomad Games, which will take place in September this year, to introduce them more closely to our culture,” he added.

“We are firmly committed to continuing to deepen our cooperation by developing interactions at the intergovernmental, inter-presidential, and inter-parliamentary levels. This truly marks a new page in our relations,” concluded Kulubaev.

It is worth noting that Ervin Ibrahimovic, the head of the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry, arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit, during which he met with Jeenbek Kulubaev. During the visit, the Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Kyrgyzstan was also opened.
