As a result of the earthquake, the epicenter of which was located 133 kilometers southwest of Uzbekistan, residents of the Syrdarya region felt tremors with a magnitude of 2–3 on the Richter scale.
We remind you that starting from January 2026, Uzbekistan will begin using artificial intelligence technologies for medium- and long-term forecasting of major earthquakes in seismically hazardous areas. In the first phase, the system will be tested in Tashkent, and there are also plans to assess the seismic resistance of buildings, bridges, tunnels, and historical sites.
