In China, the death sentence was carried out against Bai Tianhua, the former CEO of China Huarong International Holdings. This decision was made in connection with his culpability in a bribery case, the amount of which was approximately 156 million dollars, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing the country's Central Television.
According to investigation materials, from 2014 to 2018, Bai abused his position, assisting others in their attempts to obtain projects and corporate financing. As a result, he illegally received 1.108 billion yuan (approximately 156 million dollars) in the form of bribes and material assets. In May 2024, the court found him guilty of receiving bribes on a particularly large scale, sentencing him to death, as well as depriving him of political rights and confiscating his personal property.
It is worth noting that in February of this year, the court rejected Bai Tianhua's appeal, upholding the death sentence despite his cooperation with the investigation and providing significant evidence for the investigation of other cases.
According to the television channel, "With the approval of the Supreme People's Court, on December 9, 2025, the Intermediate People's Court of Tianjin executed the death sentence against the convicted Bai Tianhua."
