At the plenary session of the Senate, it was also reported that among the victims, 535 people sustained serious injuries, while 26 suffered minor injuries. The highest number of accidents occurred in the construction sector (198 cases), light industry (43 cases), transport (36 cases), and agriculture (35 cases), while the remaining incidents were distributed across other sectors of the economy.
During the investigation of the incidents, 2,372 violations of legislation were identified. As a result of administrative accountability, fines totaling approximately 1 billion soms (equivalent to over 83 thousand dollars) were imposed on the guilty parties, and criminal cases were initiated in 196 instances. Additionally, 6.1 billion soms were paid as compensation to the victims and their families (approximately 508.3 thousand dollars).
Juraev added that this year, the State Labor Inspection (SLI) recovered 159 billion soms (over 13.2 million dollars) in unpaid wages for 13 thousand workers. Administrative fines totaling 22 billion soms (1.8 million dollars) were imposed on 8,259 officials who violated labor legislation. Inspections regarding labor protection and safety covered 7,327 enterprises, where about 11 thousand violations were discovered.
The Deputy Minister noted that violations of labor rights also occur in state budget institutions, including local administrations, educational, and medical organizations.
"Often, cases of illegal dismissal are recorded specifically in state institutions. In most cases, even if an employee violated labor discipline, their dismissal is deemed illegal due to non-compliance with established procedures, such as timely notification or the proper documentation. As a result, courts reinstate such employees," Juraev reported.
According to him, the labor inspection, in collaboration with the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Health, is working on amendments to legislation concerning dismissals and the processing of sick leave.
Juraev also reported on the inventory of 17 thousand enterprises as part of the legalization of informal employment, which allowed for the official registration of 80 thousand jobs. The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction plans to implement an online consultation system for labor issues using artificial intelligence, creating a database of 10 thousand questions and answers available to citizens in digital format.
