The issue of workplace injuries in the Kyrgyz Republic remains highly relevant and requires a systematic approach to its resolution, reports the Federation of Trade Unions (FTU).

According to information from the FTU, 70 investigations into workplace accidents were conducted in the first 11 months of 2025, of which 31 resulted in fatalities and 39 in serious injuries.

“Such data indicates that a significant number of incidents lead to serious consequences. This may indicate a high level of risk in the workplace or systemic violations in the field of safety. Group accidents are particularly alarming — during the specified period, 13 such incidents were recorded, resulting in serious injuries,” the statement emphasizes.

According to federation representatives, group incidents always indicate serious violations in the organization of safe labor: insufficient control, lack of training, disregard for regulations, and ineffective use of protective equipment.

In the 11 months of 2025, 91 people were injured, among whom, unfortunately, there is one minor and nine women.
The fact that there is a minor among the injured raises particular concern among trade unions, as young workers are the most vulnerable due to a lack of experience and knowledge about safe work methods.

The FTU emphasizes that each of these incidents is not just numbers, but the fates of people and their families. Many cases of injury could have been avoided with proper organization of the labor process, adherence to safety standards, and regular training.

“The need to pay attention to labor protection is not just a formal obligation, but the key to preserving the lives and health of workers. The alarming statistics for the 11 months highlight that the situation requires immediate action and increased control. The Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan calls on all enterprises, regardless of their form of ownership, to make labor safety their priority, as only joint efforts can reduce the level of injuries and protect the lives of employees,” the organization noted.

Earlier, the Labor, Social Protection, and Migration Ministry's labor legislation control and supervision service reported that in the first nine months of 2025, 123 workplace accidents were registered, resulting in 135 injuries, of which 51 were fatalities.
