The World Population Review (WPR) website presents data on alcohol consumption in different countries around the world. According to this information, Kyrgyzstan continues to be one of the most sober countries in Central Asia, with a consumption level of 3.9 liters of pure alcohol per person per year.

The authors of the study emphasize that there is generally a low level of alcohol consumption in Central Asia, which can be attributed to the influence of Islamic traditions. For example, in Kazakhstan, this figure is 5.4 liters, while in Uzbekistan it is 2.1 liters.

The lowest levels of alcohol consumption are recorded in Tajikistan (0.7 liters) and Turkmenistan (0.3 liters), as noted in the report.

According to WPR, the leaders in alcohol consumption worldwide are countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Romania ranks first with a figure of 17.1 liters, followed by Georgia (15.5 liters) and Latvia (14.7 liters). The top five also includes Moldova (14.1 liters) and the Czech Republic (13.7 liters).

The report also indicates that for some countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, there is no data on alcohol consumption. The minimum value of 0.1 liters per year is recorded in Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, as well as in Iran, Syria, and Kuwait.

World Population Review is an independent scientific publication and reference work, founded in 2013, specializing in demographic data and statistical materials.
