Ulan Junushov decided to give his father an unusual gift — a car from 1959, which marked the beginning of his passion for retro cars.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, Ulan shared that his father, Jumashov Batmakul Junushovich, who worked as a driver his entire life, often transported people in a "UAZ" during Soviet times. Ulan's interest in retro cars began in 2018 when he gifted his father a "Volga GAZ 21," produced in the same 1959. "My father once saw this model and even rode in it, but he never drove it," he said. He searched for a car to delight his parent and accidentally found an advertisement for the sale of this retro car. He purchased it, but unfortunately, shortly after the gift, his father passed away, and the car remained idle in the garage.

On May 9, at a parade in Bishkek, Ulan's father drove this "Volga" along with other retro cars. The engine capacity is 2.4 liters, and the fuel consumption is 15-16 liters per 100 kilometers. After the car was gifted, Ulan became fascinated with retro cars. Currently, the car is valued at 8 thousand dollars and is located in the Sokuluk district. "If the opportunity arises, I would like to find an even older car, restore it, and gift it to someone," he added.

Ulan Junushov is the father of three children and lives in Bishkek.
